The winery: StoneCap isn't a standalone winery — it's Goose Ridge Vineyards' second label, all fruit estate-grown on their sprawling Columbia Valley property (the "stone cap" refers to the layer of basalt bedrock under the vineyard). Goose Ridge is a Washington farming family (the Monson/Newhouse families) who've grown grapes for decades before launching their own label; StoneCap is their easy-drinking, everyday-price tier.
Tasting notes: Bright and refreshing, with floral and citrus blossom up front, layering into tangerine, lime, and ripe stone fruit, with a mineral streak on the finish from that basalt soil.
