  • Producer: the family supplied fruit for Biondi-Santi’s Riserva until about 1990. Today Lorenzo Magnelli makes the wine with native yeasts and large Slavonian casks.
  • Tasting notes:  ripe plum, wild berry, forest floor, dark spice and blue flower, with Marasca cherry, black raspberry, licorice and tobacco, dried flowers, underbrush, crushed rocks and dried black cherries. It is elegant. Decant for about an hour.
  • Pairings: braised short rib, roast lamb, ribeye, game, aged pecorino. Serve at about 64–66°F.
