Duckhorn turns 50. The Napa Merlot house has made Sauvignon Blanc since 1982, and this one is ripe, silky, and tropical, with a splash of Sémillon.
The Story
Dan and Margaret Duckhorn founded Duckhorn Vineyards in Napa Valley in 1976. For its 50th anniversary, the winery blended estate and North Coast fruit with a touch of Sémillon for extra weight and silk.
In the Glass
Pineapple guava, dragonfruit, lemon meringue, and lime blossom. Bright acidity keeps it fresh, and a few months on the lees give it a creamy, silky texture.
Pair It With
Shrimp, crab, ceviche, Thai food, fried chicken, goat cheese salad.
Serve
Well chilled, around 45–48°F.
