The Croci Tenuta Vitivinicola Vino Bianco Frizzante "Lubigo" is a natural sparkling white wine from Emilia-Romagna, Italy, made primarily from Ortrugo grapes grown in the Colli Piacentini region. Produced using the ancestral method with spontaneous refermentation in the bottle, it undergoes fermentation in stainless steel or concrete with 7–11 days of skin maceration and ages on lees for about 10 months.
Tasting Notes:
- Appearance: Deep straw yellow, often slightly cloudy due to its natural style.
- Nose: Intense aromas of white and yellow stone fruits (like peach and apricot), white flowers, aromatic herbs, and hints of yeast or bread crust from lees aging.
- Palate: Dry, rounded, and fresh, with fine, delicate bubbles. It offers a balanced structure with fruit and yeast-driven flavors, a subtle tannic grip from skin contact, and a pleasantly bitter finish.
- Character: Light-bodied, with a delicate minerality and a savory, lip-smacking quality, reflecting its biodynamic farming and minimal-intervention winemaking.
Pairings: Pairs well with grilled fish, shrimp, or light appetizers.
This wine is a classic representation of Emilia-Romagna’s traditional frizzante style, crafted by Massimiliano Croci at his family’s estate in Castell’Arquato
